Cloverfield

Well I recently bought the cloverfield DVD, and while i’ve seen the movie twice in the theaters, i bought this DVD mostly for the extra features. The extra features were interesting to watch, though, the alternate endings were disappointing. I love this movie for many many reasons, but the main reason is that it got me thinking, with all of JJ Abrams’ Viral marketing it seemed that this movie had a strong following before it was released. One thing I liked that no one else seemed to like, was the open endedness of the movie. I like how many things we can assume from watching, and we are never force fed anything, but are allowed to wonder, and the ending, I thought, fit the movie. there are things I would like to discuss though, the first of which is (*SPOILERS*) the death of Marlena, I was upset with this..but also curious, as the character suddenly begins to develop they kill her off, I was surprised. I was more surprised however by how she was killed. They never talked about how the bite from the tiny spider-like creatures could cause that, it doesn’t really show how she was killed , so we are left to assume that she exploded. Now, I’ve been hearing rumors that she wasn’t even killed, but that it was one of the men in the suits that did…if you watch the part slowly (just look on you tube) you can obviously see that it is in fact her. The second thing that I’m wondering about, is how the creature got into the ocean. Was it just an undiscovered creature, like Hud talked about, or was that falling object at the end of the film the creature in an egg. I would definitely love to hear what you guys think, plus some other stuff you guys have noticed as well.

Hey there to the WordPress world, I’m new to this whole blogging thing, but I thought that maybe it would be a good way to get some writing out there. I would appreciate any help and advice you professional bloggers have.

Well to start off, I went to go see Iron Man last Friday. My expectations weren’t very high going into this movie, as the past few superhero movies that have come out haven’t really impressed me much (Spider-man 3). This movie however possessed a certain charm that came in the form of Robert Downey Jr., he is the one that most definitely makes this movie excellent. Well, I never really planned on doing a review of the movie, but if you’re a fan of action movies or an Iron Man fan boy you need to go see this!

I have recently gotten back into playing Halo 3 (after overcoming my COD4 addiction) and have shelled out even more money towards Microsoft to purchase the new Legendary Map Pack that was released April 15th. My sole reason for the purchase was the recreation of the map Blackout(remake of Lockout from Halo 2). I am pleased to say that the purchase was worth the 800 Microsoft points. The first map I tried out was Avalanche, a HUGE map set in a snowy mountain. It’s filled with man cannon’s that allow you to almost hop around the whole map, or just have fun launching vehicles. the second map is Ghost Town, a map combining both open outdoor environments and indoor corridors, the map is asymetrical  and has many excellent hiding spots. the third map is Blackout the recreation of lockout, and it is awesome, almost an exact copy, and I’m not complaining. along with the new maps come new features to the Forge, the coolest of which are Filters, which allow you to change the look of the entire map. My favorite is the Gloomy filter, it almost gives it a Gears of War effect.

well that was my first blog, kind of sloppy and disjointed, but I hope next time I write to give my review on GTA IV.
